Roasted chickpeas are a really simple, yet tasty snack to make and you can adapt the flavours to your own taste.
I made my chickpeas flavoured with pepper, garlic salt, chilli oil, smoked paprika and mixed herbs, but here’s a basic recipe to be seasoned as you wish.
- Cooked chickpeas (from dried or canned)
- Olive oil (use flavoured or seed oils for different flavours)
Extra: Add flavourings in the way of spices, salt, pepper and anything else you can think of!
Simply preheat the oven to 180 degrees C, then prepare your chickpeas by tossing lightly in olive oil and any spices, salt and pepper you wish to flavour with. Spread on a baking sheet and cook in the oven for approximately 40 minutes, giving the tray a shake half way through cooking time. Leave to cool before eating.
They can be stored in a container for a few days, however they do loose their crunch.
